HISTORY

Founded in Hollywood by Jacob Stern in 1889 as The Stern Realty Co., The Oppenheim Group represents five generations of real estate development, management and brokerage services in Los Angeles. Jacob Stern, Brett and Jason’s great-great-grandfather, was one of the preeminent real estate entrepreneurs of early Los Angeles.

Jacob built his personal residence on a five-acre parcel at the now world-famous corner of Hollywood and Vine. In 1925, the family constructed the Hollywood Plaza Hotel, which was the preferred luxury destination of the entertainment industry in the early years of Hollywood, and is now preserved as a California Historic Landmark. However, it was the lease of Jacob Stern’s horse barn for $75 a month to three Hollywood newcomers that would alter

the course of Los Angeles, and become The Oppenheim Group’s most immortalized real estate transaction.
In the horse barn at the southwest corner of the family residence, Cecil B. Demille, Jesse Lasky, and Samuel Goldwyn would establish Hollywood’s first movie studio, Paramount Pictures. The world’s first full-length feature film, “The Squaw Man,” was produced and premiered in the barn, which has been designated a National Historic Landmark and currently serves as the home of the Hollywood Heritage Museum. United States Senator, Chris Dodd, then Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, began his 2012 inaugural address, stating, “What started in Jacob Stern’s horse barn at the corner of Hollywood and Vine has turned into a landmark American industry.”

The family’s continual development of their property at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine as a destination for movie producers and entertainers fostered its ascension as the center of the world’s entertainment industry. Subsequent generations of the family have continued to impact the landscape of Los Angeles through the development and brokerage of hundreds of residential and commercial properties from Hollywood to the Pacific Ocean. From the beginning, The Oppenheim Group’s primary purpose has been providing high-end brokerage services to the residents of Los Angeles.

Rocco’s prior business experience in the Architectural Profession has helped him gain the true business sense of how the structure is married to the Land before strategically seeing if it is suitable for his client. And the true “Art of the deal” is in the nuts and bolts of negotiation and connecting the various players to complete the whole transaction. This also goes back to being taught as a young boy how to conduct business by his father a General Contractor, Developer and Businessman from Chicago with business transactions worldwide.

Rocco is very sensitive and passionate about his involvement within the Community and various Organizations helping as an important member for Charitable causes. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus dedicating his time in helping the orphans in foreign countries. Rocco is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, USC Guild, Masons, Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, Calvary Chapel and The Chamber of Commerce. A Businessman by instinctive nature because of his father, Rocco has fine-tuned his skills and talents for every real estate transaction to make sure his clients get the best and completed deals without any complications or frustrations that arise in many amateur transactions. No matter whether your deal is large or small … Commercial or Residential, you will always have the best pro and consultant in the real estate business giving you special attention day and night… staying in your corner until the job is completed. FAMILY & FRIENDS

Rocco was taught and mentored in business early on by his father who owned Italian Restaurants, was a General Contractor / Developer buying and selling real estate as Rocco and his two brothers were growing up.  His father re-enforced and taught him work ethics, desire, motivation, principles of a good contract, keeping a man’s word on paper or in a handshake as well as being tenacious in the business world. His father “instilled values and morals from his grandfather …never letting him forget that success has no boundaries,” as stated by Rocco. Also, Rocco’s father and mother knew his true passion and desire was helping people and was a leader and not a follower. Meaning he would never feel comfortable working for anyone but himself as the owner and proprietor of his own business. Rocco has many talents and skills… but real estate is his number one desire and passion in helping people. While helping many people he has acquired many new friends who have become like family to him. Family is very important to Rocco and being a true Italian, his love of family comes first and always remembering his Italian family roots.

EDUCATION

Rocco attended USC and has a degree in Architecture with a minor in Business and Cinematography. Throughout the years he has Acted in major film projects and successful movies and performed on Stage on the East Coast as well as the West Coast. While attending USC he was a working Actor, which helped support some of his financial obligations in school. Upon graduating he worked for various top notch Architectural Firms and years later acquiring his Real estate license to sell real estate in California.
